Wu Bingcai,born in October 1940, chief physician of TCM, professor, doctoral supervisorfamous TCM doctor in Jiangxi province with over 40 years of experience in clinical treatment, teaching and research, enjoys the special allowance of the State Council. He has gained fame and recognition by having been selected by China’s Ministry of Human Resources, Ministry of Health and State Administration of TCM as one of the national TCM specialists for instructing apprentices. He emphasizes the importance of applying classics in clinical treatment to renewing their vitality. He also advocates exploring and expanding the usage of classical prescriptions via syndrome differentiation, prescription medication as well as homotherapy for heteropathy. In addition, he proposes more flexible prescriptions by combining the classical prescriptions with the modern prescriptions in order to cure miscellaneous difficult and complicated cases. In sphygmology, he prioritizes reference to the location of six pulse conditions, fu1-yang2 pulse and LV3. His specialty is the use of combined prescriptions to cure complicated diseases. He has acquired high reputation among students, and was invited to teach in classical prescription training classes throughout the country. He has received numerous awards, including the Discipline Leader of Both Politically Sound and Professionally Competent in Jiangxi ProvinceExcellent Teacherand Advanced Individuals for Ethics of Teachers in Jiangxi Province. He presided over and completed Jiangxi Provincial scientific research projects, edited or sub-edited two treatises. He takes the lead in the field of treating complicated cases with classical prescriptions.
